Today, until 21:00, you still have the chance to cast your vote for the European Parliament elections. The European Parliament plays a crucial role in decision-making within the European Union. In Rolde, there are three polling stations.

According to the latest polls, the largest center parties, the Christian Democrats and Social Democrats, remain relatively stable despite a slight loss. The gains are mainly going to conservative and radical-right nationalists. Radical left and liberals seem to be losing seats.

Below is an overview of the polls:

FactionCurrent Number of SeatsProjected SeatsDifference
European People's Party (EPP)187180-7
Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D)146136-10
Renew Europe (liberal)10285-17
Greens/European Free Alliance (G/EFA)7255-17
European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR)6876+8
Identity and Democracy (I&D)6385+22

Implications of the Polls

The polls suggest that the traditional grand coalition of Christian Democrats and Social Democrats will no longer have a majority. This means a third party will be needed to form a majority. Possible coalition partners could be the liberals, greens, or conservatives.

Turnout Figures

Turnout figures show a rising trend. By 3:45 PM, 23 percent of eligible voters had cast their votes, higher than the 19 percent around the same time in 2019. This indicates a growing interest in the European Parliament elections compared to previous years.
