New Caregiver App Launched for Residents of Aa en Hunze

In an important step for supporting caregivers, the municipality of Aa en Hunze has introduced a new Caregiver App. Alderman Kiena ten Brink unveiled the app during a meeting of the Healthy and Active Living Agreement (GALA) in Gieterveen.

Caregivers play a crucial role in caring for their loved ones. Currently, there are 5.5 million people in the Netherlands providing informal care, and this number is expected to rise due to an aging population and ongoing shortages in the healthcare sector. The well-being of these caregivers is vital to prevent them from becoming overburdened.

The new Caregiver App, developed by Valtes in collaboration with the municipality of Aa en Hunze, offers a digital solution to support caregivers. The app serves as a personal assistant, providing tailored advice based on the users' specific care situations. Additionally, the app includes reliable articles and information about free, relevant events for caregivers in the region.

The municipality of Aa en Hunze already had a Caregiver Support Center, but with the introduction of the Caregiver App, support is further expanded and digitized. This app is available for free and can be downloaded from the Valtes website: www.valtes.eu/mobile-download.

With this new digital tool, the municipality of Aa en Hunze hopes to better support caregivers, enabling them to continue their important work without becoming overburdened themselves.
