Bowling alley renovation in full swing

On the Hoofdstraat in Rolde, the site of the former bowling center and a pizzeria is undergoing a major transformation. The renovation work is currently in full swing and promises a new chapter for this location.

Peter de Boer, project leader of the renovation project, reveals that the former pizzeria building will house a brand new restaurant, with two apartments on the top floor. The bowling center will be transformed into three homes, giving the location a new life as a residential and culinary center.

The decision to reopen the bowling center was ruled out due to the worn condition of the bowling alleys. "All the tracks were worn down to the thread and no longer functioned properly," De Boer explains. "Complete removal was unavoidable. It was a significant task considering the tracks were underneath the entire property."

A large part of the existing bowling center will be demolished and then rebuilt. According to the project leader's plans, the three facades of the new homes will be located a little further away from the road. In addition, the conservatory of the future restaurant is undergoing a makeover, while the balcony will be removed as part of the renovation work.
